What web accessibility is

Web accessibility means that all users, including those with disabilities, can access and interact with our website with ease. This encompasses the design and development practices that allow for compatibility with various assistive technologies.

I want my website to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. I aim to follow recognised good practice for web accessibility, working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as far as is reasonable for a small business.

What I do to support accessibility

 

Where possible, I aim to:

  • use clear, plain language and a logical page structure;

  • provide good colour contrast between text and background;

  • add descriptive alt text to meaningful images;

  • make sure links and buttons are clearly labelled;

  • ensure the site works on mobile devices and different screen sizes.

My website is built on Wix, which provides a range of built-in accessibility features. I continue to review and improve my site's accessibility over time.
